Many of our luxury apartments also offer private hot tubs on your own individual terrace, a perfect place to unwind in the evening. If you don’t fancy using the self-catering facilities our apartments offer, there are pubs and restaurants, some within walking distance that you can enjoy during your stay.

The TV series “Fishing in the Footsteps of Mr Crabtree” was predominantly filmed at the Kingfisher Lakes and, of course, the six programmes starred our very own Fishery Director, John Bailey. If you watch the programmes – and the second series is being filmed as we speak – then this is your chance to fish the very swims that John used during the Crabtree Project. And remember, John himself is down most days of the week, so if you want a book signed, perhaps, there’s every chance you might bump into him here.

The present Kingfisher team has managed our four lakes for some years now. They are incredibly well-stocked with carp to forty pounds, tench to twelve pounds, bream to double figures, big perch, pike and just about everything else you can think of. The great thing about the lakes is that they offer fantastic sport to anglers of all abilities. If you are a top-level carp angler, then probably it’s the big lake you will be after. However, if you’re looking for smaller carp, perhaps set amongst a really good mixed bag of fish, then it could well be that Willow, Lily or Lobster Pot will be your preferred venue. Remember, too, that these lakes are ideal for the kids. You can have them fishing within sight of the hot tub, too, so they are constantly under supervision but enjoying that rare experience of independence. Put on a small float, tiny hook, a couple of maggots and, in most lakes, it’s a fish a cast.

Don’t forget the river, either. The roach are coming back in force. You might want to book John Bailey, perhaps, for a few hours to teach you how to get the very most out of the float and the centrepin! Even if you’re not an angler, the setting of the Kingfisher Apartments in this beautiful landscape will really offer you so much. The views are breathtaking, the walks are stunning and this is the place where peace really breaks out. It doesn’t matter if you decide to spend the bulk of your days on the coast, on the Broads or in the city of Norwich, you can begin or end your experience, morning or evening, with a walk around our lakes taking in the wildlife, the sunrises and the sunsets.
